Yesterday was Jack Kerouac's birthday. When I was in high school I read On The Road and had the same reaction to that book as I did for Catcher in the Rye: So? Perhaps I needed to be born 20 years earlier and do more drugs to fully appreciate the book. I tend to favor Ginsberg when it comes to Beat writers ( Read more... )
